Flying to the region is easier than ever with daily non-stop and connecting flights into Telluride and Montrose Regional Airports. Six different carriers service the airports, and there are nine non-stop destinations: Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, Phoenix and Salt Lake City.

At 9,078 feet above sea level, Telluride Regional Airport (TEX) is the world’s second-highest commercial airport and offers 360-degree views of the San Juan Mountains. The runway was renovated during the summer of 2009 and has re-opened with many improvements. The drive from the airport to Telluride or Mountain Village takes approximately 15 minutes. Non-stop air service is provided daily by Great Lakes Airlines through Denver and US Airways through Phoenix.
 

Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ)

Montrose Regional Airport is a scenic 75 minutes away. With service by American, Continental, Delta and United, Montrose Airport is convenient and easy to navigate. The elevation at the airport is 5,759 feet.

Because carriers and services change seasonally, it's best to contact a reservationist to check for direct flights and specials (Telluride Central Reservations 888.605.2578). If visibility falls below instrument approach minimums, Telluride flights may be diverted to the Montrose Regional Airport or the Cortez Airport. In that event, ground transportation will be available.
